I have been reading the FT forums non-stop since I found them a few weeks ago in my search for a good weight training routine.
Since getting married and moving out of my house 2 years ago I lost my access to free weights due to lack of space in my apartment.
So I recently joined a gym to try to get back in shape. I signed up for 10 weeks of sessions 2 days a week with a trainer. Along with doing cardio 2-3 days a week. In the last 7 weeks I have made more progress than I have in 6 months of training on my own. I was stuck in the same boring routine where I only worked a few muscle groups. With the exception of a few leg presses, legs were not even included in my workout. I had never ever seen a dead lift, and never tried squats with free weights. I was the typical newbie concentrating on bicep curls and bench press. Now I know better.
Now I feel I am ready to stop the sessions with the trainer and get started on the FT 8 week intermediate exercise plan on a 3-day split. I will try to post some progress pictures in a few weeks.
The FT forums have taught me so much so far, and I just wanted to thank for everything I have learned so far.
