When I look at sample meal plan, almost all say small salad with protein. What is the deal with "small" salad? Even if you eat large salad, as long as you watch what you put on it, shouldn't be that much more calories. I don't think we get enough fiber if we are only eating small portion of vegetable. Can someone tell me a reason why people tend to recommend small salad?

go ahead and eat as much as you like...just don't use the dressings(they are meal in themselves calorie-wise)...instead use virgin olive oil, or a little vinegar, or sunflower oil......vegetable in themselves are great for nutrients and dieting in general
