Ok I'm a little lost. I filled out all my info and on my nutritional plan it tells me I should eat about 3,000 cal a day. I want to lose weight not gain it. I don't see how I can eat that much. For some reason I have noticed it takes my body a lot longer to dump food if that makes any sense. I don't get that hungry at all.
As for today I did much better in eating smaller meals more often then just one big one. I had a slice of wheat bread and less then 2 tblspoons of peanutt butter about an hour before my work out. Then about 6 hours later a bowl of chicken noodle soup from Denny's, and then about 5 hours I had 3 chicken roll ups with cheese, need to get some lowfat/none or some alpine lace swiss I heard is good, then for dinner about 8 I had a grilled chicken salad. I doubt I made it to 3,000 calories. Will this still hurt me in the long run if I don't make it to 3,000 cal or am I ok for now?

depends how much weight you have to lose, how much you currently weigh, and so on..
if you cut calories drastically you may stunt metabolim further...and it's going to be hard to stick with the diet....also some foods have more calories then you would expect..they are very deceiving...especially fast food places...
eat 6-10 meals/snacks a day...eat more fiber which should help fill you up and keep you regular...about 35g a day...

I have about 80lbs to loose give or take not really sure. I'm only 5-1 with a broad build. My goal is to drop the weight but get a little bigger and cut at the sametime. I just started the 8 week plan for weight and muscle definition. I am taking a prescribed thyroid pill from my doctor since I do not metabolise very fast. I gather this will change as I become more active at the gym 5x a week and eating smaller leals through out the day.

What about cardio?? How much cardio (sweating) are you doing? That helps me to drop weight pretty fast while eating enough calories to keep my muscle.
When I cut too many calories, I get tired at the gym, head-aches and I tend to lose me muscle. 3000 calries does sound high though to lose weight.. I would keep asking about that till I got an answer.. I will check back because I am curious myself! Good luck and congradulations on changing your life!

I have a similar issue. My nutritional plan here on ft says that I should be eating almost 2100 cals. per day. I am 5'6" and weigh 155lbs. with about 25% body fat. I do workout 5-6 days per week (cardio & weigh training each day). I usually eat about 1400-1500 cals per day and the weight isn't going anywhere. Doesn't 2100 seem like a lot for weight loss?
