I have one question about them. The nutrition facts say that for one serving(one tortilla) there are 80 calories. However I don't know whether to count those 80 calories or not. My reason for asking is because there are 8 grams of dietary fiber, and 12 grams of overall carbohydrates. (2 grams of fat and 3 grams of protein as well.)
Now if I calculate the calories with the listed macronutrients, there turns out to be 78 calories.
Carbohydrate 12*4=48
Fat 2*9=18
Protein 3*4=12
78 total calories
Rounded up to 80 calories.
But if I subtracted the eight grams of fiber from the tortilla, the calorie count would be much lower.
Carbohydrates = 12-8=4 grams of net carbs
Carbohydrates 4*4=16
Fat 2*9=18
Protein 3*4=12
a total of 46 calories with the dietary fiber subtracted from the listed calories
How much calories should I count for each tortilla? Have they already subtracted the dietary fiber calories from the tortilla? Thanks in advance for responding.
I use these....just count them as the package says...just consider the number relative. And use the same number all the time. That way there will be no variance in your calorie counting.
