I am a dancer so I get plenty of cardio and stick to weight training when I hit the gym. I dance 6 days a week. However I will be taking a few weeks off for vacation and I was wondering as far as cardio goes, I am not looking as much for calories burned but what targets my butt/hips the most. Would that be the stairmaster or does anyone have a better suggestion? thanks

hey! Stairmaster is great for the glutes!! but u can only stand one cardio work out for so long.. if you run or walk on the treadmill put it on an incline gives your glutes a nice challenge...also do the same if you are doing the cross trainer.. I know a lot of specific weight exercises that target the hips and glutes. if you want to know them just let me know! Ill be more then happy to share them...but they burn BIG time...remember no pain no gain.

The weight exercises I do for glutes include squats, lunges, leg presses, and deadlifts, if you got some more great ones I'd love to hear about them. thanks :)

I was reading a study a while ago stating that the stepper does very little for the glutes. EMG activity was reported as very low. I can definetly say that deadlifts, lunges, squats and good mornings involve alot of glute activity.

Also try feet ancored back extensions and reverse hyper-extensions.
