hello everyone i am having trouble finding the right bra. :( i am 16 now and i cant really remember when i last bought a bra...since then my boobs have really, well grown and grown some more.... i cant seem to find a sports bra that will give me enough support with out the bouncin boob effect and it also feels uncomfortable which stops me from doing thing like skipping etc.. how do u determine wat is the right bra for you. i think im about a c-cup
and also wat is a good bra designed for going to school in and give me that lil bit more support than a normal bra? |

check out Enell bras, they are for c cups and larger. Not sure where you can buy them but they are supposed to be great.
If you can find a store that offers free bra fittings thats the best route to take, tho you can find plenty of websites that offers the info you need to find your correct bra size. Good luck, Leslie |

Hi Beezy...I hear ya about the bra dilemma...I've been searching for years for the "perfect" workout bra-I'm a c-cup as well. To date what I have found works best for me is to have a variety of bras depending on my workout. I use a highly supportive bra for running (I believe it is a Vogue sports bra-not very attractive but functional). I use a less supportive bra-but one that wicks moisture- when doing weights since I'm not bouncing-this one looks a tad better than the jogging bra. There is a pretty nice bra that Reebok makes that is supportive and gives a very nice shape, but they are pretty expensive. I also make sure all of my workout bra's have "coolmax" or some other wicking fabic, it really does help!
For everyday where, I like an underwire bra with slightly wider staps and a bit of padding (helps for wearing under t-shirts or other thin shirts and they give you a nice shape). I'm interested if anyone else has found the "ulimate" workout bra because I'm still looking-and have been for about 10 years:( -------------- Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there. |

<<For everyday wear, I like an underwire bra with slightly wider staps >> this was something i really needed to know b/c at the mo im wearing a bra with no underwire and i think thts the problem b/c my boobs tend to come out the bra if that makes sense. thanks flyonthewall youve been a big help  |

============ Quoting from beezy: if they come out of the top of the bra then it usually means the cup size itself is incorrect, go to a nice department store and they will measure you. I went for years thinking i was a c cup...then i got sick of the stuff at the top coming out come to find out I'm a DD (tho hopefully working out as i have been doing will help decrease this abit LOL) <<For everyday wear, I like an underwire bra with slightly wider staps >> this was something i really needed to know b/c at the mo im wearing a bra with no underwire and i think thts the problem b/c my boobs tend to come out the bra if that makes sense. thanks flyonthewall youve been a big help  ============= |

there are lots of bra sizing tools out there. Just search on google for it or as stated before goto a department store/Victoria Secret. I can't believe that correctly sized DDs even fit in a C cup though without looking really really weird. Make sure you don't get tag/size envy and lose support because you will regret it later. And no I don't have breasts, but my wife after 2 kids has brought me bra shopping WAY to many times. :) good luck.

Been there done that as well gangster. However I have got no good advise for this thread.
Why do I suddenly feel like that guy that sneaks into Victoria Secrets and quietly refuses service from the employee's and snoops around looking for something for his wife without having a clue what size she is? |

Trying to guestimate the size from tape measurements just doesn't work as you are trying to measure a 3dimensional structure in 2 dimensions.
You really have to try on bras to make sure they fit. Underwire are good for everyday but can be uncomfortable for workouts and I find they interfere with my heart rate monitor. I also wouldn't try to make do with the tops which have a little support built in without wearing a bra as well unless you want your boobs round your ankles by the time you're my age  -------------- The path to righteousness is a cycle path |

man_of_steel...wrong kinda website.
What I can't understand are these women that don't wear bra's to the gem...that's like me not wearing any underwear during my workout...ouch. I think most that don't typically have a fake set at my gym. Yes it's fairly evident that they're not wearing one when they're firm and...ummm...shall I say perky at the same time. Sorry for butting into your thread..I'm leaving now. ::runs away and shuts door quickly:: |

Really? I thought sports bras and other bras more or less hide that? Of course what do I know...I only wear bras on Saturdays...oops did I type that?

traditionally, yes bras are supposed to hide that....depending on what they are made out of it. i hate sports bras, i don't find them comfortable at all...so most of the ones i own are made out of like silk and satin, not very thick material....so you can see through mine!!

Well let me tell ya, a bra that is "perky and see through" aint going to cut it during a cardio HIIT routine. Not only does the bounce get rather irritating but it hurts like hell the next day. I'll agree, the sports bras may not be pretty, but they serve their purpose!

Hi there-
I have found the perfect solution to this. When working out wear a minimizer bra, especially for running. The best ones I have found are Lileyette (sp?). They work better than any sports bras. |

perky, see through + bounce= breasts around ankles age 30.

I agree princess. Tho I can't bring myself to part with my thong even for workouts. I just can't get used to wearing full bottom panties anymore.

lol, this thread is getting entertaining.
Gangstershoes-yes 34DD fits in a 38C as with the increase of the bandsize there is a slight increase in the cup size but not enough to change the cup letter. (trust me i was confused as hell when the woman who measured me told me that) But i do agree with you it looked slightly odd, and i always wore lose fitting clothes, and i hated the way i looked in just my bra (there was always stuff hanging over.which just made me feel FAT) anyhow all i really wanted to say is get measured by a pro. or spend hours trying on sizes. I have never been more comfortable or supported since i did so. Sivysivy~yeah minimizers are great, i like them better than sports bras as well. D |
