For lunch i combined
1/2 cup kidney beans
½ cup frozen peas/corn
½ cup brown rice
Chicken breast on George Forman

The calories came to 530
52 protein
9.5 fat
74 carbs!!!

Is this alright to have that many calories, carbs etc. for a weight lost? I still meet my calorie goal at the end of the day.. but is it better to have smaller meals?

while trying to lose weight...going with a smaller and more frequent meals might be better....so 300-400 calorie meals....every 1-2 hours...instead of 3 big meals during the day....also depending on your total calorie requirements this may not be all that much....if you eat 3 meals like that a day you're getting 1590 calories....which is probably ok for someone on a 1800-2000 calorie diet....if you're more in the 1500-1700 calorie range then it's probably better to make the meal a bit smaller....

so for example 1 day forget about the peas, and just eat beans/brown rice/chicken breast...next day substitute peas/corn for beans...and so forth....this will lower total calories of the meals and create a bigger variety in your meals....(also consider buying black and wild rice...both are amazing)

to sum it up....it's better to eat smaller more frequent meals...which helps boost your metabolism....however if you meat your required daily calories for weight loss then it's alright....nevertheless...

You might try making up that batch and eating 1/2 of it one day for lunch and 1/2 the next. Otherwise, menace has some good comments on overall cal intake and # of meals per day.
