Recently i've been noticing improvement in my leg press exercise. I'm at the point where i can press about 4-6 reps of 880lbs. The one thing is........i don't let my knees pass my toes so not to put too much pressure on my knees. Ssomeone told me that I wasn't doing it properly and that I should let my knees come to my chest( i use a decline leg press machine). I know if i do that i will have to decrease the weight but I don't wanna mess up me knees with all the pressure of the weight on them. If anyone has ideas on how to have an effective leg press without damaging your knees please let me know.

proper technique is to press until your thighs and the platform are parallel..

if you choose to do leg press then lower the weight...and touch your knees to your chest...you won't mess up your knees as long as you do it slowly and progress to higher weights slowly....expect to do a lot less weight...I seriously think you have been half repping...people use excuses of messing up their knees to quarter/half rep on squats/leg press...etc...
