Today I blew my program in a bad way! It started with Fuddruckers and went downhill from there. My meals today consisted of
1 lb. triple cheeseburger
large french fry
large peanut butter cup blizzard
bag of butter microwave popcorn

This is the first time I have gone absolutely crazy in almost a year and I feel quite guilty (I considered forced regurgitation but couldn't bring myself to do it). My mind is also trying hard to convince me that I have undone 5 months of training even though I know it is physically impossible.
I guess my question is what are the realistic reprocussions of a day like this? Will it mess my metabolism up in any way?
Tomorrow is back to normal healthy eating but can't help but think I screwed myself out of a weeks progress in one day.

Hi there-
Dont feel so bad. I have felt just like you are now. I cant tell you exactly what will happen because of your eating, but I can guess that it wont be too much. Certainly not a weeks worth of progress. You will get back on track, and this will just be a blip in the screen!

Thanks for the reassurance.
My mind has a tendency to try and play games with me when I am confronted with situations such as this. For instance, not only do I feel like I wasted last weeks training efforts I also had myself convinced I could feel the grease clogging my arteries LOL! May sound funny to some but it feels real enough to me.
Anyway thanks again Sivy. May I say your signifigant other must be a lucky individual indeed. Intelligence, reassuring and quite pretty. A rare and elusive combination in this day and age.

that lapse in diet may actually stimulate your diet a bit over the next 24 hours. the only thing to watch out for is to not let it slip into a habit. a cheat meal once a week is perfectly fine, the important thing is to know your limits and bounce back on the health wagon

luvthemtorts- you have been training hard for a long time, one cheat day won't ruin it. As bropie said, it will probably rev your metabolism for a bit.

Now, get back on the horse and ride!

Thanks guys and gals.
I am feeling pretty good today and back on my healthy eating program. I stepped on the scale just to see what it had to say and I didn't gain anything from eating that big ol' fatty meal.
I will say that I didn't enjoy the unhealthy food as much as I thought I would and it made me feel quite sluggish the entire evening instead of energized like my normal meals typically do.
