I'm just curious, how often should i be increasing the weight of the weights to be gaining muscle? And how much do you think would be sensible to increase the weight by?
thanks :)

Increase as you can. There really is not timeframe, we all get stronger at different rates, depending on diet, rest, recovery abilities, etc. If you are doing X amount of weight doing X number of reps, and you can do them fairly easily, then it is indeed time to move up. Always challenge the muscle.

ok, so say for example im.. i dunno benching a curious 10lb, and after a few weeks it becomes to easy, should i increase it by another 10lbs? another 5lbs?
i wanna know 'cause i don't want to increase the weight so much that i wont be able to handle it and will probably injure myself, and so its not increased enough for me to continue gaining - if you get me.
thanks for that tid bit anyway :p

When you are at your max in weight, 10 lbs. can be a ton to add. On the other hand, if it has become very easy for you, then 10 lbs. may be easy to add. You actually will have to judge this. If you are just beginning, take it slow is probably the way to go. Try a smaller amount first, maybe even 2 1/2's, and see how this feels. You want to always use a weight that challenges you, but with good form. The last couple reps should be fairly hard to complete.

When you up the weight do you do less sets or what? :-/ I am confused on the set setup thingy...

As a beginner, keep sets/reps intact. Stay with the program, simply always strive to challenge the muscle for continued progress.
