Well, to put it straight. You are not going to have any muscle showing until you start toning. Get on the weight loss and toning plan on here. Start eating healthy food, like salad, turkey, chicken breast. Stay away from all the junk food. Most important is cardio. Start light and work your way up to doing longer and longer cardio training. I started running about only 20 min. 3 times a week. Then increased about 5 minutes each week. Now, i'm running 45 minutes a 6 days a week. If you cannot run, the elliptical machines work miracles.

think about this equation then you will know exactly where you need to focus - 10% genetics, 30% being active and 60% what you eat!!! so the saying you are what u eat is sooo true!! there is no magic to this....keep motivated, be determined and change your lifestyle and you will see your body revamp before your eyes... good luck and stay strong

sure...I'm a male, 5'4" and got up to 185lbs at one time. Currently at 146.2 (gotta put the points in there cause this is the lowest I've been in 8 years). wahha and c_dob are right. The majority of your fat loss will happen in the kitchen. Eat clean, about 5 or 6 times a day. Get some eggs in the morn (half with yolks/and half without), some fruit and vege's here and there for snacks, eat a sandwich on whole wheat for lunch, get ya some lean meat for dinner. Pick you up at protein mix and use it as a snack during the day and/or before bed to hold off cravings. I use Optimum, it's a pretty good flavor.
Track your diet either here or at www.fitday.com. Find out what you're eating...you're not going to be able to correct your diet until you know what's in it. If you're able to then get into a gym. Do some cardio and weights. About 30-45 min of cardio and about 30 min of weights. You won't bulk from the weights, because it's very difficult for women to bulk without years of training and additional supplements. So don't worry about that. The extra muscle will help you burn more fat more efficiently though.
Otherwise don't expect results over night...you didn't put on the weight over night and you can't expect to lose it that quick. Get into a routine and give it a few weeks, at least, before you see any results. However once they start coming they won't stop unless you do.
Otherwise welcome to FT...Fill out your profile and goals and feel free to hang around and get your questions answered. Just about everything I know, I've learned here in the last 4 or 5 months...and I still got a ton to learn from the people here.
