Recently my friend and I went to GNC to pick out some goodies... after a couple days of the whey shakes, she decided she hates them, and the very thought of them makes her want to throw up.

She is 115 pounds, and is working on getting rid of just a little bit of body fat on her stomach/arms/legs, while building lean muscle underneeth. I've suggested things such as cottage cheese and tuna after the gym instead... what else could I suggest? Are there other whey packed foods that elude me? (I'm always drinking the shakes, so I don't have this problem.. hehe)

Thanks in advance! :)

maybe she could try another flavor of the shakes.. the liquid meal is much better than the solid meal immediately after a workout. it will get nutrients to the muscles faster, and be absorbed more quickly. this is especially important postworkout, as the training you have done has taxed your muscles, and this is the optimal repair time.

as for other food, just look to other lean cuts of meat (chicken, beef, turkey, pork, etc.). whip up a sandwich, throw together some pasta.. the possibilities are endless.

after workout fast digesting carbs and lean proteins are good

pasta+chicken breast
potatoes+steak
white rice+fish

a solid meal 45-60 minutes before gym with plenty of complex carbs and lean protein sources are also good

100% whole wheat/rye bread+lettuce+chicken/turkey+slice tomato

yam+turkey+beans

black rice+beans+fish
