has anybody heard of the combat conditioning workouts by (i forget his first name) Foley. i clicked on a link at work the other day (the link was an a politics website-- no idea why). it talked about how weight training was bad etc. etc. and how you only need hindu pushups, hindu squats, and some wack sounding ab exercises to get in top condition. it also claims to increase all of your major lifts if you were to go back to lifting later on. my first impression is its BS...but i also think theres always room to learn. what do you guys know about this stuff?

matt furey is really good---at advertising. He was at the top of his game BEFORE he ever started his whole calisthenic thing. Its great if your going away from a gym, but other than that, stick to what really works... I have 3 of his books (really 2 books and 1 compilation, because I know someone out there will be like "he only has two books"), and have actually given his programs a shot. for people that want to concentrate on bodyweight calisthenics, for whatever reason, I would recommend a combination of Pavel Tsatsouline's programs with a few of the things from his books, as well as the drills recommended by Martin Rooney, the s&c coach for team renzo gracie, the premier MMA team in the world.
-------------- The best feeling in the world is the feeling you get after a tough set of squats after you step back from the power rack and throw up all over the floor.

I have a link to a letter from an olympic wrestling coach that matt furey actually names in those that he trains on his website (not entirely true) completely bashing him and going more in depth as why he is a "fraud." PM me if you want the link.
