How long would it take to get my body fat from 26% to 18%?
I weigh 117, 5' tall, small frame. 39 years old, been working out for years.
I am on the 8 week plan to lose fat and get toned... and I'm following a clean & strict eating plan (advice I've gotten from trainers here).. doing cardio 5 days a week also.

vad...I'm a male so the bodyfat %'s vary a bit. However it's taken me 4 months to go from 26% to 18%. For me that was about 20 lbs...from 165 to 145. Judging by your weight, I would probably recomend you do cardio 3-4 days a week as well as some weight training on days you don't do cardio. Maybe do 3-4 days cardio and 2-3 days weights...you'll find that the added muscle will not only shape your body better, but will eat away those excess fat storages (or at least hide them better) that I found I can't really burn away with tons of cardio.
Otherwise 26% body fat on a female isn't that bad at all...think average for a female is like 25% My wife is 5'4" and weighs about the same and is sitting at 25-26% as well and she doesn't look bad by any means.

It seems to me that when I dieted down I lost about a precentage for every 2 lbs of fat lost.. I am not sure that is correct, but it seems like what I remember.
So, 8-12 weeks? at 1-2 pounds a week, slower maybe if your metabolism is down.

How will I lose wiegh/ body fat if I am doing so much heavy weights and gaining muscle?? I am SO confused...:(
dies that mean I would need to weigh 100 punds to lower my BF? Sorry to ask stupid question but I REALLY DON'T GET IT?!

You may not necessarily lose weight, you will become more compact and smaller, yet weigh the same, maybe more as you lose fat/maintain or gain muscle.

From my understanding it's difficult for females to bulk...without years of a consistent workout routine
Asimmer...correct me if I'm wrong here. However doesn't increased muscle also decrease bodyfat %? As the weight might go up from the added muscle, the measurements will indicate more muscle mass and take that into account. That's always been my understand...but might be unfounded.

That's right stump. If you gain some lean muscle and lose no fat, your BF% actually goes down.
Lisa, Throw away your scales or at least lock them up for a month. Check your progress with a tape measure. If you are lifting heavier than you used to, you are building new muscle and it could be pushing out the small layer of fat making you appear to be bigger. Stay the course. The fat will lose.
Remember muscle burns many calories than fat even at rest. Also muscle is heavier than fat. You may very well have lost fat, gained muscle and the scales say the weight hasn't changed. Beyond that be sure you're eating enough. Most folks equate less food with weight loss and that just aint the case when you work out alot. Also welcome to FT.
