Hi, i just joined and I am trying to diet and lose wieght while gaining muscles. For you expierenced people please tell me what you think, and any advice will be helpfull.

I started a workout system and a diet on July 22, and i plan to eat 1000 calories a day (i heard if you eat less your body can go into starvation mode?) and I have been running about 3-4 miles a day and work out in a small gym for 30 mins - 2 hours a day. My goal is to drop about 20-30 pounds by August 22. All i have been eating is healthy choice meals (like 2 dollars per meal at sams) I also throw in fruit and vegies. I'm also starting to do abdominbal plan. Please let me know what you think, I know it seems like im in to much of a hurry to do this but i plan to keep working out more and more every day.

It's true that you can put your body into "starvation mode" which in turn lowers your metabolism! This is not what you want. Eat more often but in smaller portions and you'll achieve better results...
