I am no stranger to protein/malto/dextrose mix, however I do believe I have been over consuming protein in my post workout shake. I am currently using four scoops of whey, is this too much at once? Should I cut back to only two scoops? I have heard the body will discard extra amounts and I do not not want to waste the protein if so. My current weight is 184 lbs and around 13% body fat.

I would say in your case about 45 gr. should do the trick. YOu have probably been intaking twice that amount by normal scoop size.
