Ok this is a strange combination. I am 6'4" 245 lbs and just started an intense karate class 2 days a week. The class is great and intense (especially the abs) but the next day I feel like a train hit me. I have been trying to read about supplements that help with recovery, but everything I seem to find focuses to muscle mass. I also have no idea what is healthy and safe from what isn't. I am a competitive bowler and muscle mass actually interferes with my game (past experience in college.) I already drink a lot of water but what else can I do or take to help my body recover faster?

Glutamine, flax oil, and ZMA all aid recovery. Aside from that, maybe try whirlpool or an epsom salt bath after workouts.

I thought muscle mass helps you throw the ball harder, thus knocking down more pins...

Have you ever seen a huge guy on the PBA? The answer is no. Strength is inportant, I would have to guess accuracy is better!

If youre strong enough you can knock down 8 or 9 accuracy just helps you get the strike all the time that is about it.

exactly. its one of those sports where skill is more important than strength, like golf. i have a friend whos my age, and im a good 40 lbs more than him. this kid is phenomenal at golf, can drive the ball well over 250 yards, and is bang on in the fairway and greens. then theres me, who couldnt put the ball in to save my life :)..
