Hey guys,
I have a quick question. While doing shrugs, I pulled something in my neck and for the past couple of days, I've had limited mobility; can't swing my head left to right or vice versa in a smooth, fluid motion.
I don't think it's anything serious because I am getting a whole lot better over the past couple of days, but I'm wondering if this similar thing has happened to anyone else.
I know it's my neck because I can still move both shoulders with no pain felt. >>>I normally do shrugs by pulling the dumbbells up on my sides, holding for about 2-seconds, and slowly dropping the weight back down.<<<
It's weird because I didn't go too heavy while doing the shurgs... Has something similar happenend to anyone here?
Sorry for the long e-mail... thanks!!!

Are you putting your chin in your chest? Or looking up?
Persoanlly, and this is me.....I have to tuck my chin, if not I can't breath and I don't get as good as a "squeeze".....but I have a 17in neck.....so play around with head posistions....see whats works best.
Watch going supper slow on shurgs.....somtiems that does more hard than good. I'm GUESSING you may just have some neck strain, after yoru done with weights.....lean your head to left hold for 10 secs, then right 10 secs, back and forward etc. a few times....should clear up though.

One time I just turned my head the wrong way and I couldnt look left or right with full mobility.... if I even tried to I would experience a lot of pain.... it's not from the weights you probably just turned wrong or something... s*** happens.

i've had something similar irnlady. just stretch it out and rest it for awhile before you go back to shrugging. even drop the weight a bit if the injury is a result of poor form.

Are you rolling your shoulders? If you are, this is incorrect, and may cause some pain. Just shrug your shoulders up to your ears in a straight plane of motion, and lower to a good stretch.
