Hello all. I love to come to this site for advice. I am a Marine who got back last week from Iraq. While I was there I had a scheduled diet because of the chow hall that was offered. Now that I am home, and my schedule is way different, I am finding it very difficult to find nutritional food for the early morning. I leave to workout at 5:00am and then its off to work. I do not have access to a kitchen so I am depending on prepared foods. Any ideas? For now I am eating lean lunchmeat sandwiches. Is there other things I should consider? Thanks in advance for the advice.

do a fitbuddy search.. im pretty sure we've discussed this before. my fav is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.. oodles of energy, lots of complex carbs (in whole grain bread), healthy fats and good protein.

Thanks for the advice. Lunch meats not good? Why, because they are processed meat? I am thinking of trying the Myoplex ready made shakes. A little expensive, but I will see how it works out. Happy training!

processed meats have alot of sodium..

you can always make up your own shakes too. look up some smoothie recipes (i think theres a whack on this site.. if not around the internet theres bound to be some). look for a mix of complex and simple carbs (ie. oatmeal and fruit), protein (ie. milk) and healthy fats (ie. flaxseed or pb), and you will be good to go in the am. :)

Yes - check the FAQs forum and the recipe thumb tacks!

But if you don't have access to a blender and you just need a shake in a packet to mix with water try Labrada Lean Matrix or Myoplex. You will get more variety with the ready to mix as opposed to the ready to drink.

Male sure you pick a meal replacemnet with good carbs like oats in it - the labrada ones do, and tri-o-plex bars do.
