I mean.... if you're not hungry and not engaging in any strenous activity, then your body probably isn't breaking down any food or muscle tissue right? I notice when I stay up all night I am STARVING in the morning, but when I sleep the next day most of the time I'm still not hungry... I guess that is because your body is slowing down by then... but is any of what I'm saying right...

FFA are high at night...this is an instance where liver glycogen comes into play. This is the bodies natural mechanism for fasting while sleeping. When you get up and eat, insulin is used and FFA are removed quickly.

Does this mean that if you have protein shakes in the morning that is good too?

A protein shake in the morning is never a bad idea.

actually, I heard that you should aim to eat certain foods at certain times, ie in the morning, that's when your body gets rid of toxins, so you should drink lots of water/eat fibre, etc. Anyone know more?
