Hey guys,

Im new to the forum, but Ive been lurking for a few weeks. Ive tried looking on fitBuddy for my answer but I cant seem to find a thread that answers my question, so I'll shoot it out on a new thread, then you guys can delete it as you wish  My question pertains to my protein supp. I use a 100% Whey Protein powder that I mix with skim milk for a good source of protein. Everything I read says to take your shake immediately following your work out. I live 20 minutes from my gym, so after my work out, I drive home, make my shake, and thats that. Is 20 minutes to long to wait to take my supplement? Would I benefit more from figuring out a way to take it immediately (like before leaving the gym) after my work out? Thanks guys.

Love the info on the boards.

Why not take your protein to the gym with you. All you need is a shaker cup, surely you have water available, and shake it up. Couple minutes and you are ready to go.

Good advice, I'll try it out with water (though I do like the way the milk makes it taste, and gives the extra 16g of protein with it, but I can easily make that up elsewhere).

Heres a follow up Ron, I just started taking a creatin supplement and Im in the process of loading. Once the 5 day loading period is up, when would be the best time to take take my 5g each day? Ive read right before my work out, but I have also heard before breakfeast... whats your take?

I was a post workout fan, but recent research has lead to me to favor pre workout. That way serum creatine levels will be peaking and the increased blood flow to the muscles hopefully will maximise delivery.

If you can afford it, both are really good.
