My goal from working out is to shed my excess fat..I have a good bit of muscle, but too much fat on top of it....So should I still be taking protein after my workouts, if my goal is to loose weight. Thanks

yes.. the postworkout protein is essential. play with your cardio levels and nutrient intake to shed the fat.

If you work out sufficiently to "earn" it, protein should always be had post workout. Let your diet(calorie manipulation) and cardio do the fat burning. Keep your weight workouts intense and heavy, though maybe less sets.

If on the other hand you do what some consider working out, that is talk for 45 minutes and actually do something for 10 minutes, then any added calories is probably counterproductive.
