Anyone seen that 'Friends' episode, where they're all wondering what it would be like if Monica was fat and Ross stayed married, etc? Well, y'know how Ross wasn't getting any, so to take out his frustration he did karate?
WELL I AM SO IN THAT PLACE RIGHT NOW!
I live, sleep, eat and breathe karate at the mo, I am so FRUSTRATED! Where's that zen-like clarity of mind it's supposed to bring?

It would be very difficult to reach any kind of 'zen-like' clarity of mind if you are using it as a way to release frustration and aggression, and even more so in a classroom environment. Clarity of mind comes from perfect practise, bringing your focus inward and outward at the same time, soft allencompassing eyes, proper breathing, and doing each movement for it's own sake. 'Practise doing nothing well'

The 'Zen'-like state is more a being of clarity when your mind is empty of everything and instead focused on the most simplest of things which you normally take for granted....as you meditate you embrace these elements....helping you further focus on whatever it is you're doing....whether karate, meditation, playing sports, or whatever else it is you enjoy doing....
As you do karate focus on each part of the movement ...focus on your breathing...clear you mind of everything...do not let frustration cloud your mind....your mind must be completely blank of everything.....karate for you should be as a way of meditation...by allowing you midn to focus on one task you become more proficient and can reach what is often referred to as 'being in the zone'....
