I was just wondering what the basic's are when you want to do a cutting cycle? How long what to avoid is it carbs very low calories? Just would like to know what is tried and proven
more or less, during a cut cycle you're going to be consuming less calories than your maintenance. a good starting point is about 250 cals below this point, and you can adjust accordingly. however, if you create too much of a deficit, you risk compromising muscle for energy.
your protein intake should stay fairly high during this cycle, and you should predominantly be cutting calories from carbs.
I don't know where you're starting from knowledge wise but bbifit posted a thread awhile back that's a good place to start. The links at the end of this post. It's a fairly long thread but read the whole thing as the info goes to the end of it. The biggest thing is don't cut calories too much and don't do like a lot of folks that go with lower workout weights or you'll be cutting muscle instead of fat as bropie said. I've found on my current cycle that I wasn't getting nearly enough fat and had to supplement to get it. Also search fitBuddy using "cutting diet" and you'll find some good recipes that come in handy when you're mind is telling you that you are starving it. :)
