I'm in need of encouragement to lose this weight. I've tried to change myself, but with no encouragement, it's kind of hard. I eat constantly when my hands aren't busy and no one tries to stop me or notify me of what I'm doing. I don't realize how much I've eaten until I sit down at the end of the day and think about it. I want to change, I just need someone to support me-anyone with words of encouragement or suggestions, please reply!:)

It can be a pain in the rear but you need to spend some time (actually a lot of time) really tracking what you're eating. If nothing else, as you stop during the day to record what's going in, it'll make you stop and think about it. There is plenty of support here so feel free to participate.

I agree with Mike about tracking what you eat....Before...not after you eat....write down in a journal what you are about to eat...and read what you have already eaten...it will keep you with the realm of reality....Track every little item...including condiments (sugar and cream in your tea/coffee, ketchup etc)Make slow changes to train yourself and munch on healthy low cal things like celery and carrots...everytime you want to eat something....drink a glass of water first...Small daily improvements add up over time.

Hi Stella, My name is Wendy and I am new to the message board. How much exercise are you getting? Do you walk to school? Do you have a dog you can commit to woalking each morning and each evening. I have found that a 30 minute walk a day makes a great difference in my weight as well as my motivation to eat better. Walking in the fresh air releases endorphins in your brain and elevate your mood. I feel great after a walk. Think about some ways to get that 30 minutes in each day. Good luck to you.

Stella ...you can also track your food on this site. when you did your profile it should have told you how many carbs, cals., etc. you should eat a day. Then go to the food tracker and put in everything you ate and drank that day, it will convert everything for you and show you if you went over your intake or not. Good Luck:)
