hey free trainers, i'm a 15 year old, 5'6" and 140 lbs. with a bmi of 22.4%, african-american male and i'd reallllly like to get into weight training. the thing is, is that i don't know where to start or know what to do. i've tried lifting weights, and i can't even get 95 lbs. off of the bench press (and i think something is really wrong if i know many 15-16 year olds benching 180+ with ease and are only like 150-160 lbs.) which kills my motivation every time i'd like to start. i'm mostly conserned about my chest (when i stretch my arms back you can see the bone behind it, obviously not enough mass here), shoulders (people have complained about it hurting them or being bony), back, and a little bit of my arms (they're not that small but i could put on some mass). so i'd be greatly appreciated if anyone could hand down some knowledge around this area to get me started and i can go on from that. i at least want to be able to bench a over 100 or close to 130 lbs before december.

thanks!

Fiest of all for just starting out 95lbs is not that bad. Second how long have these others been training. I bet if you just statred and stuck to it, you would see some great results. look on this site for a basic routine. Good luck!

how does that kill your motivation... Everytime I see someone lifting more than me (which at the university gym, sadly, isn't that often. Even guys much larger than me), it just makes me that much more motivated to catch them.
