This might be a stupid question. I've been working out for a couple of years and just decided to start one of these 8-week programs. How do you increase weight? for example, I am able to do 20-8-6-4 reps with 135, 155, 175, 195 pretty easily. Should I increase after this week? 5 lbs, 10 lbs? In other words, when do you know when to increase and by how much?

Thanks!

Everyone is different. I think you just get a feel for when it's time to up the weight. I am very detailed in recording my sets, reps and weights used with each of my exercises. When I can do 15-12-10-8 reps of an exercise twice in a row, that's when I know to up the weight. I almost always increase in 5 lb incriments. I also always strive to up the weight every week or two.
