Hey guys,
When you're doing a split routine, say, chest/abs one day, bis/tris, the next, etc. when do you increase the amount of weight? Hmmmm, like there are three different chest excersizes, and you're doing three sets of ten on the first one, but less on the second and third ones. Do you wait until youre doing three sets of ten on all three excersizes or increase with each one individually? Just seems if I keep increasing the weight on the first one, I'll never get full sets out of the other two...

Increase weight whenever u get to finish your sets/reps....basically what u intended to do....you can also randomly increase weight in different sets....especially the first few when you;re fresh....experiment a bit...it;s as much art as it is science....

You should always challenge the muscle. That is, do your required reps. If on the last set it is fairly easy to complete, then you are not challenging them enough and need to increase. Increases can be interesting. On some lifts, 5 lbs. over your previous max will feel like a ton. On others, you will be able to go well over that. The idea is for your last 2-3 reps to be very challenging, you have to "work" to complete. In reality, you can look at as these are the ones all the others have led up to.

This I understand, but there is a sort of 'trickle down' effect, where the first excersize, affects the second, the second affects the third, etc. so if I keep increasing weight for the first excersize, I'll never make full reps on the other two. I'm talking about the excersizes themselves, not the reps. This only started since I began a split routine where I'm working the same muscle group for three different excersizes.

That's the whole idea. You adjust your weight/reps on each set to maximize.
