I am a 28 year old female - 148 lbs, 5'7"

My ideal weight is right around 135 lbs...I am very active - working out with weights 4 or 5 days a week. My cardio includes 3 days of kickboxing along with three other cardio sessions which may include running, using the eliptical machine, or the stair climber.

I am attempting to eat approximately 1500 calories per day (45/35/20) in my quest to reduce my body fat and eventually my waistline. However, I am struggling to reach this goal. I have listed my daily food intake for today below. Does this sound like a good plan?

6:30 am
5 Egg whites with broccoli, tomatoes, and spinach
1/2 cup oatmeal

9:30 am
3 oz turkey & an apple

12:30 pm
3 oz salmon ~ spinach salad with broccoli and red peppers
3 oz sweet potato

4:00 pm
Protein Shake
apple

7:00 pm
3 oz salmon with asparagus and red peppers
or
5 Egg whites with broccoli, tomatoes & spinach

Any suggestions would be great!

That sounds like a well balanced meal. You could try to add some snacks in between 9:30 and lunch. A good program that helps in seeing what you are eating is Fitday.com it is free but recommends the pay version. I am finding it hard as well to find the right balance for me to lose as well. I lost a lot of weight by cutting carbs but I want to gain muscle now. I also learned that doing this your body can become carb stricken and now I have to be careful adding carbs back to my diet.
