A year after the baby, and just now getting into wanting to loose the weight. I breastfed, so i couldn't really diet and I became a couch patatoe! I know I know, bad idea, but now i need help! I am 185 lbs and a size 16 to 17. I wanna get back into a size 10! HELP! Any suggestions from some more experienced people?

clean healthy food diet and 30 min cardio sessions 4 times a week. You could add in some strength training to help build up your muscle a bit, and burn a few more calories in the off time. Breast feeding is one of the best times to get back in shape by the way. good luck and welcome to ft.

No dieting is necessary. Just make sure to eat healthy. Whole grains, lean meats, and lots of vegetables is the key. I have read that exercising can cause some lactic acid buildup in breastmilk that alters the taste to your baby. If after exercising your baby won't nurse I recommend pumping your breasts and discarding the milk after working out. Congratulations on your baby and on breastfeeding. I breastfed my twins and they have only been sick twice (they are 19 months old) and never had an ear infection.
