OK - this may be a silly question but how do I add weight when doing cruches? Do I hold a weight on my chest? Thanks.
Also, I'm assuming to add weight to leg lifts I would need ankle weights?

Yes on both counts. However, try moving the arms around on the crunches... extending them will make the move difficult as well. Easier if they are across the chest, harder if the hands are at the side of the head, even harder if the arms are fully extended behind your head. Give it a whirl.

Oh, and please fill out your profile.

For the leg lifts try holding a dumbbell between your feet when you do them. For instance, I use a 15 lb. dumbbell.

Yeah, knee-ups hold weight between feet and crunches on decline bench holding weight on chest. At the gym they have some neat weighted crunch machines. I only use weighted crunches 2-3 times a week. Abs need rest too.
