im having so much trouble getting energy. i always read that if u work out..u get more. i HAD to do alot of cardio with my last job but it certainly didnt give me more energy. also, i can force myself to exercise for about 2 weeks until i just lose all of it. why dont i get extra energy? its really hard to stay motivated when im half asleep.

also..about food...how important is it to be nazi strict with my diet? im not overweight...i just have some unwanted pudge..and of course..its all in one spot (unfortunaly, not my boobs!). i am not willing to make myself miserable and eat leaves all day. im a college kid..i like cookies lol.

i dont eat horrible though. i dont drink coke (well...maybe once a month)..lots of water...we dont have alot of fattening stuff in the house. i also dont eat that much in a day (i dont get hungry). i wanna look better so i can be happy...but..again..cookies make me happy :)

help!

Yes you generally feel more energized after lifting weights/cardio ....but that ofcourse depends on #1 diet #2 sleep...obviously if you slept 4 hours night before studying for a final and ate no breakfast and then decided to go for a morning jog...you'll feel like crap....however if you had 8+ hours of sleep and ate a good breakfast and went for a 30-60 min jog....you'll feel more energized and alert during the day...there's a lot of synergy between many factors...it's not just 1 thing...

no need to be super strict about nutrition... as long as you eat 90% of the time good diet, you'll be/do well...you need to eat consistantly and consistant calories...it's much better to eat 4-6 times a day...then starve a day...just choose smart portions...500 calories for a meal, 200-300 for a snack....you can even schedule 1-3 cheat foods a week....just don't go overboard....getting results is all about consistancy...you didn't gain weight eating cookies once a month...it took u a while...a consistant pattern of eating during every week...so that if u do 'cheat' with this food once in a while you'll be fine...

so what did we learn? eat...cookies! :) jk

Can I ask what you mean by exercise? The tone I get from you post is that you equate exercise to cardio? If that is so the most common thing that happened ios that one you did not eat right/enough. Two is that you did all cardio(and too much of it) and little or no real weight training.

thanks guys....i shall eat cookies

i do the weights but they arent an issue for me. the weights dont require me to jump..run...kick..punch...the weights are good to me. im just starting with them so..my arms are realllllly weak. i cant get going with the cardio part. what i meant with having to do cardio at work was..i had to run up and down 4 flights of stairs..5 minutes inbetween to start movies (projectionist).

i guess it could be the sleep...but ive never slept much. i go to bed between 4 and 6 am ...then get up at 9 somedays...12 others..then a nap. ok..u win...i need to sleep better

6 hours of sleep even is not enough...maybe if u were 80...u need 8 minimum...and more like 9-10...otherwise expect more of the same...3 hours...that's just...self torture.....
