hey i just neede sum advice on dis.... i am thinking about taking diet pills (hydroxycut) to help me lose weight. two of my friends said that this was an extremeley bad idea as they can have adverse effects on the adrenelins, blood pressure etc. is this true? is their a 'safer' type of diet pills.

why do u need diet pills to begin with...? majority are an outright waste of time/money.....nutrition and exercise help you get the results...diet pills are just an attempt at an easy way out...yes some ingredients can create adverse effects in your body....it's a very individual thing with many of them...even for things like ephedra....caffeine, etc......

Yes if you look at the ingrediants (spelling is wrong LOL), most of them are just caffine. Waste of money.

WHAT ABOUT GREEN TEA DIET PILLS? ARE THEY EQUALLY DANGEROUS AS OTHER PILLS?
2005/12/02, 05:07 AM
the results are far from great to buy it...it's not dangerous but it's also not worth the price that most stores charge....if u want a boost...make a strong brew of black/green tea and sip it in the morning or throughout the day...

I do drink green tea every day. So I should just forget the pills altogether and stick to the liquid?

yes....your results are not going to be altered dramatically to bother paying for those supplements....little tea throughout the day is going to give u a little bit of boost with its caffeine content and a smaller dosages of EGCG which although are not nearly in the quantities you need for the small thermagenic effect...but then again it's your diet that will give you the results...

SPECIAL NOTE: Is Green Tea Dangerous to the Thyroid?

In response to my article, some readers expressed concerns regarding the high fluoride content in tea, and the negative relationship between ingestion of too much fluoride and thyroid problems, as well as other health concerns.

This is definitely something to be considered before deciding to take green tea.

While green tea has some definite benefits in the cancer-prevention and metabolism-boosting arena, the fluoride content may, according to some practitioners, be a concern for the public in general, but specifically for thyroid patients.

Rubbish...produce papers!

There is so much fluoride in the water system, the little bit that is in GT will do nothing to you.

There is always someone who finds something wrong with everything. The editor does not substantiate in any way this claim. Following the link sited, it leads to nothing again. There is not one shred of scientific evidence to back this up.

And honeydip, I replied to your post about green tea.

Definitly be careful with diet pills. A few years ago I tried Hydroxycut. I have NEVER had an allergic reaction to anything. After taking it I broke it in hives and it traveled through MY ENTIRE BODY! I was miserable, but at the time i was also taking creatine and some other supplements so I wasnt sure what did it. I stop taking everything. It was about 2 months ago when i thought I would give hydroxycut another chance. I wasnt taking any other supplements. I broke out in hives AGAIN!I decided that puffy lips and a swollen eye wasnt a good look for me and I will not be trying that again. Just thought I would share my experience. And if anyone has an idea of what i could have possibly been allergic to that is in hydroxycut Im curious to know. :)
