Finally turned to the dark side

that's right with my squat in the crapper, i decided to use the dreaded smith machine...LOL....

just wondering what you think is an effective use of smith machine to build barbell squat? I don't think it helps whatsoever with my form...but it helps me use more weight safely...so guess it will have to do for now...

hahaha. The dark side gets another recruit. The only reason that I use smith is because the YMCA i go to doesn't have a squat rack

Menace if that's the dark side, then life must be treating you great. I can think of much worse then a smith machine squat. So keep your chin up and be grateful you can squat at all.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Menace: Everytime a powerlifter uses a smith machine, god kills a kitten.

Yes I realize my shins are bleeding. And its called a deadlift. Any other questions???

If you smoke or don’t wear your seatbelt, please don’t tell me the deadlift is dangerous.

:(

feels like i am drowning with my squat...can't get it right...and my strength is pathetic with wider stance...I am literally down to having to use like 275 on it...while SLDL with 500...look rediculous...it looks retarded when I am doing goodmornings with more weight...eh..

Can you explain why you think using a smith machine will help with that? Also, if you are a better squatter with a narrower stance, why not just squat like that?

I wish my gym had a squat rack so I could tell how much I can actually squat.
