I LOVE to drink beer. I have discovered it's my downfall... and I hate to give it up but I think I must. I just gave birth & was well on my way to losing weight... then this holiday weekend (& a little the past WEEK) I begun to drink beer & I can TOTALLY tell the difference. I feel *inflated*... very bloated... ugh...
Can someone give me advise... I want to trade in my beer drinking for some other alcoholic drink for social occassions. I like to have a drink in the evenings... but not something that is going to make me bloat!! What can I drink that won't do this?? (Please don't give me any complicated recipes... I'm a simple girl... LOL!!)

a glass of wine with supper or after dinner could be a good substitute.

I've just recently switch from beer to vodka and soda water (unflavoured soda). I like to just add a slice of lemon and lime and maybe a splash of cranberry juice. I too am a beer drinker at heart, but this seems to be a good alternative. I'm finding I'm drinking less because a use a large glass with lots of soda.

Just switching drinks isn't the best thing to do. A single shot of vodka (or 1.5 ounce, can't remember) has almost 100 calories. When you mix other stuff in it just gets worse.
I'd go with a red wine if anything. Plus for me wine tastes like crap so I'd drink it much slower lol.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not really sure that I can drink wine... I wouldn't even know what to buy LOL!!!

Hmm, I have found that any alcohol keeps me from reaching my goals and performing at my best... no preaching, i too am a beer-hound, but I have tried everything you could think of to work beer or vodka or whatever into my plan and it always derails me.
Beer makes me bloat, too. Any type of drink makes me much more likely to snack on garbage that I normally wouldn't eat...
Try switching to ice water, diet soda, hot tea...at least you won't blow your caloric intake and you will feel a lot better the next.
Kudos to those people who have the control to have a glass of wine or a drink, I just know it isn't for me. there is no such thing as 'a' glass of wine..:surprised:

I like beer too. One beer doesn't usually do the trick either.
