Well fed American husband used to be 145 lbs and 5' 8" tall 10 years ago. Now I'm nearly 200lbs...all fat, mostly in the stomach, chest and legs. The wife isn't liking it and neither am I. Affects our sex life, which sucks. Gonna get back to the good old days and stop looking like a loser (or start?)!

I also am trying to lose weight so I can have a happy marriage. I am getting married in the spring of 2007 and want more than anything to look good in my wedding dress. Your comment helped motivate me even more. I really want to start my marriage out right and not let it get to the point you're at. Is your wife involved in your workouts? Any advice? Thanks.

it would definately be a good idea to get your wife involved in your workouts. that way she will give you constant motivation and you can both achieve your fitness goals together. working out together just may give your sex life a little boost too ;)

Welcome to FT, both of you! As long as you do it for the right reasons -- YOU! I gained since married, as did my husband, he gained about 60 pounds, I like that he put on more weight as he was pretty thin, but he could stand to lose about 35 of it. The thing is, he isn't real thrilled about making any changes and it is harder for me, but what do you do? Hang in there and good luck with your goals!!:dumbbell:
