Hi, I'm just posting this question because I don't know what to do. I'm a pretty skinny guy by anyone else's standards - 18yrs, 5'10", 145-150 lbs - and I'm also a runner (do cross country, nordic skiing and track and field). But for some reason, no matter what, I've never been able to lose the fat on my stomach. It's like, perpetually stuck there. I have this one "roll" of fat (that's embarassing to say.), and it just will not go away. When I started to eat differently (aka just a lot less...) my weight went down to 135, but the fat was still there! I can't say that I've ever stuck to a real weight lifting routine or anything like that, but I mean, I've been doing pushups and crunchies all the time since...a long time, and nothing has really changed on my stomach (even though my arms are decently sized and I can feel my abs underneath!) So, my real question here is, will this never go away? I've heard that sometimes your body just needs that fat to be normal, and it will just always be that way...is that true, or is there something else I can do? I mean, would weight training even do anything, since I'm already getting so much cardio in...? Or should I eat differently (and not just think of it in terms of weight loss)?

Thanks for your help!

yes start weight lifting....it will improve your performance in running and sking....as well as help build muscle and slowly help you rid of your ab fat..

problem with million crunches is that you never increase the resistance...so it's pointless....if you can do 15-20 crunches or sit ups....you need to be adding additional weight to continue to progress....otherwise all you're doing is building more muscular endurance and burning a few calories along the way....
