Hey everyone, I think this place is amazing. My name is Lisa and I just joind. I want to shed a couple of pounds before my spring break arrives. I am not over wieght at the moment but i have some areas that could use some improvement in order to look cute in a bikini :) Does anyon have any ideas?? I know diet and exercise are key but sometimes it feels like i am just maintaining weight, not losing the extra cushion on my tummy. thanks.

Welcome to FT Lisa!

Few suggestions:
1)Use Fitbuddy search at the bottom of this screen to look up information, if it's not there then post your questions and there's a lot of great people here that will be happy to help you out.
2)Avoid the fad diets!! They might (this is the keyword) work in the short term but eventually the lbs will come back worse then before.
3)Realise that to look the way you want to look you will need to make a lifestyle change. While it's not easy to do it will save you stress down the road this time next year when you are asking the same question again.
4)Track your food for a week or 2 so you have an idea of what you can eat and what you shouldn't eat, as well as learning what portions you should be taking. This is a crucial step here. You can track it on this site or at www.fitday.com.
5)Don't be afraid to pick up some weights, and I'm not talking about 2 lb dumbells. It will do you more good in the long run to pack on muscle as it burns fat 24/7. Don't be concerned with bulking, it's very difficult for women to bulk without extra testosterone.

Those are the basics to get you started. This is a great place to get a ton of information, and it's where I started my quest to lose weight and get in shape so I could feel better and see my kids grow up.

Good luck to you and don't be a New Years Resolution dropout!!
