You didn't say anything about building your muscle back up. Just dieting won't make the belly go away. You have to build the muscle up as well as lose body fat.-------------- Mike in Pensacola Now. |

what do you suggest? i lost it by dancing & sweating alot. don't know that i've built any muscle. I have been working out some and started drinking a whey protein shake. i just don't know what to do about the stomach. i've read so many contradicting articles so that now i am completely confused. ============ Quoting from mikencharleston: You didn't say anything about building your muscle back up. Hello, and welcome to FT..
Dieting will go a long way, but you have to include exercise... If you haven't already, choose a routine from FT... they're free and will give you a great start based on any information you put in. Having more muscle will help you burn more calories. Dropping the belly will come with a very clean diet. In the Diets forum there is a thread with a list of foods you should be eating... print it off and start shopping! t -------------- I am training for birthdays. Be here. Live. Love. Hope. Now. Faith. okay so i am on the right path. i have changed my diet drastically compared to what i ate in the past. little no no sugar daily, lots of fuit, veggies & chicken breast. water only. i think my excersice is the issue. i don't have time to go to a gym and do have some workout equipment at home. i just don't understand the workout jargon i guess. ============ Quoting from TimDay: Hello, and welcome to FT.. What workout jargon can't you understand? There is a home routine on this site. Maybe check that one out.

It should all be listed in fitness resources... I think you can also click on the exercise in your routine and it will bring up pictures and descriptions.
Hope that helps! t -------------- I am training for birthdays. Be here. Live. Love. Hope. Now. Faith. Believe. You. - Keith Urban |

What does your diet look like on a typical day? What sort of resistance and cardio training are you doing?

One thing that is never really mentioned when someone asked how to get rid of the pouch is that along with resistance training don't neglect the back. Building the back muscles will fill out and stretch the skin from around the front, thus bring it tighter and closer to the abs...not to mention giving a sleak and slender appearance around the hips.

I agree, the back is definitely important. In addition to a strong back making you look better, it also balances strong ab's so that the spine is protected. Don't forget too that strong obliques pull in the mid-section and give a smaller waistline. -------------- \"We must be the change we wish to see in the world\" - Ghandi

The post pregnancy pouch is caused more by your lower abdominals being stretched and weakened during the pregnancy. It's less about extra fat in that area (though extra fat will be exaggerated by the weak/sagging ab's underneath. Lying leg raises, lying bicycle kicks done in a slow and controlled manner, lying reverse crunches with the knees bent through the entire crunch to really engage the abs. These will all help tighten the lower abs. Be sure to protect your back during these exercises, and to balance lower ab work with lower back work, like "super man's." I have an 18 month old son, and ab work has completely eliminated the post pregnancy pouch problem. Good luck.-------------- \"We must be the change we wish to see in the world\" - Ghandi

SO WAT KIND OF EXERCISE YOU DO FOR THE BACK?
