Has anyone found that they lost weight after stopping BC? I stopped taking my pills, and am hoping that will have an effect on my progress. I started gaining weight when I started BC, and am hoping that stopping it will help with weight and a myriad of other problems I have. TIA!!

Didn't help me the first time I stopped because within 2 months I was pregnant:big_smile: After my first child I did not go back on the pill and used other methods (hence baby #2-hehe) and then decided it was my hubby's turn for permanent BC! All kidding aside though, I did find it easier to manage my weight when off BC. At least it took one variable out of the picture. I also felt much healthier in general being off it.

I just went off about 2-3 months ago, and I've been gaining weight. I don't know if the 2 are connected, but it just occured to me today that they might be!
It's so frustrating, I was on them for acne, but then they gave me migranes, so I started taking them continuously to avoid periods, which was great until it caused my depression (which in turn caused LOTS of weight gain) and I was hoping that if I finally went off ALL of my problems would go away.
Except now I'm still zitty and gaining weight! Sometimes it sucks to be a woman!!

Changings in hormones effect each woman differently. I've been on several hormonal treatments since I have had some problems with my ovaries.
You risk some weight gain, water retention, fatigue, head ache, acne etc but it can be when beginning to take the treatment or when stopping it. Nobody can really say but yourself.

I'm noticing a HUGE difference since I stopped taking my bc pills. I am sleeping better, am having quite a bit more energy(especially in the evenings)and my overall mood has been better despite the stressful situations in my life right now. My husband also told me yesterday that I look smaller. Whether thats due to getting off the pills, or my change in how much I eat and exersize I can't say, but it's been a good thingfor me so far to be off of them.

I also just stopped taking the pill 2 weeks ago... really hoping it can help me lose the extra body fat! Like many girls on the pill.. I've got that little Pooch to get rid of... which I guess is from the pill...I gained 20 lbs. when I started it 9 years ago.
Here's hoping to a "weight loss extravaganza" with ya Cristalbelle!

Hiame...I gained about 60lbs over 3 years with the Depo Shot. When I switched to pills, the weight gain stopped, and I maintained(I considered that a good thing)I stopped the pills in January, and mostly I am noticing I am sleeping a lot better, and my sex drive has increased much to my husbands delight.
I have lost almost 4lbs since being off of bcp, but I think that the loss is due in huge part to the change I made in my diet. I'm sticking more closely to the diet in BB1's diet thread. Less simple carbs, more carbs from veggies and more lean protiens.
I'll keep my fingeres crossed for both of us!!
