I'm quite sure this topic has been hit before, but I'll give it a shot.

I live in barracks and as such dont' have access to a kitchen. I have a bar fridge, a microwave, and just recently purchased a toaster/convection oven. I'm also a 20 year old male who can't cook anything if there isn't a bbq involved. I may be investing in a George Foreman grill soon too. Can someone help me out with some simple ideas for meals?

Currently I eat oatmeal/cereal, tuna sandwiches, and those Michelina's bowls (yeah, I know, lol) I haven't gotten into protien shakes yet because I told myself I'd wait until I had proven that I could hold this routine before going out and spending the cash on them. I've also got access to a microwave at work for lunch/coffee breaks. As it stands, lunch is usually subway.

If anyone can post a couple recipes here, or post a threat to the "Toaster Oven Special!" I'd be very grateful.

Thanks,

Scott

here is the first one, I am still looking... you could change the seasonings, but this at least gives you an idea of what temp/cooking time for salmon.

Dilly salmon

Ingredients:
Salmon Filet
Jane's Crazy Mixed Up Salt®
It's a Dilly by McCormick®
Wesson Flavored Butter Spray®
Kraft Parmesan Cheese®

Instructions:
Preheat toaster to 375. Use disposable aluminum toaster oven tray, or cover bottom of manufacturer's toaster oven tray with aluminum foil. Spray foil pan or foil with Wesson Flavored Butter Spray® and place on top. Sprinkle filet lightly with equal parts Jane's Crazy Mixed Up Salt® and It's a Dilly®. Spray seasoned filet lightly with Wesson Flavored Butter Spray®. Coat generously with a layer of Kraft Parmesan Cheese®. Place in toaster oven-uncovered. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until firm but not overdone.

*The secret to good salmon is not to overcook it. Separate flesh gently with fork at seam. Remove fish from toaster oven when filet is still slightly shiny at the center. Keep in mind that the fish will continue to cook after it is removed from the heat.

this site has some recipes that look fairly healthy, like broiled beef.

I bet your oven will come with some recipes, too.
