hello just join this today and need your help. Trying to be fitter and lost about 15 pounds. I don't have a problem during the day..but it's the night time that I have been struggling with. I eat pretty healthy and moderately for most of the day. Then dinner time comes and I am finding myself eating non stop til bedtime- mostly nibbling here, a snack there just constant grazing. I wish I could just eat a "normal" dinner and maybe have just one dessert after. Short of having a face contraption with a locking component for my mouth, I am getting desperate. I really dont want to go to bed for the umpteen times feeling bloated, full, and disgusted at myself for failing yet another day.
Thanks

Hi fabmama and welcome to FT. I find the evenings the toughest as well. Are you sure you are eating enough during the day. One of the easiest traps to fall into is not consuming enough healthy calories during the day, so your starving when you get home. Make sure your dinners are a good balance of P/C/F and if you have a small desert, make it healthy as well. Eating more frequently helps as well. I eat 3 main meals (b/L/D) plus snacks in between, so I'm eating something every 3 hrs or so( I'm currently munching on tuna and it's 3 in the afternoon). Even with all of this, I too still get the munchies when I'm at home, so now I just try and get out of the house more doing walks, shopping, workouts etc. The bottom line is that it does take a lot of will power, but the results are really worth it!!
Good Luck!
-------------- Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

thanks for the input flyonthewall. It's 3:40pm, just got back from the gym and I am snacking on oatmeals w/ raisons. So far, I am adhering to my training regiments. You are right that it does take alot of discipline and determination. I have the workout down...now just to get the eating part as well. I am going to a potluck dinner tonight. My goal is to stay away from the kitchen and not eat anything after I get home.
