According to my knowlege, I have learned that breakfast should be about 1/3 of your daily calories, but I feel that might be a little excessive. If you arn't working out or doing cardio in the morning is that too many calories?

Yes. It must've been a fool that told you that info. Breakfast should only be 1/3 of your daily calories if you eat only 3 times a day. Most of the people here though eat 5-8 meals daily, which means they have many opportunities to meet their required caloric intake level. Eating frequently keeps your metabolism at a good rate and tells your body that it doesn't need to store the food because there'll be more in two to three hours. You do want to have most of your Carbs in the morning so you can burn them off throughout the day.

I agree withj Adam, though I read many times that you should get most of yoir daily intake of carbs after your training..... Breakfast should be "normal" sized, offering protein and cards.

I didn't specify when in the morning, but it's understood that serious athletes or builders eat one hour after their morning routine, at least. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS DO YOUR MORNING CARDIO ON AN EMPTY STOMACH IN THE MORNING. Sorry I didn't specify that Kviros.
