Hello everyone. My name is Gabriel. Im soon to be 26 (FEB 14) im 6 feet tall 168 lbs. I just sighned up to freetrainers and instantly got the pro version because I figured id go all out. I would like to get some clarification and assistance on a couple things. 1, I take celltech and protien shakes (50g each). For the celltech I follow the instructions and take a 2 scoop drink after my workout andmakesure i drink lots of water throughout the day. For the protein I drink 1 to 2 shakes a day, 1 with lunch usually and the other at a sporatic time.
The medics in my company (110th MP Co.) tell me not to drink the full 2 scoops because i will get kidney stones but I say i drink lots of water. The medic also says that 2 shakes is to much because the body can handle only so much protein and that i will just crap it out. Is this true? What should I do to realise my goal of getting bigger. THX

flacoloco7...Welcome to FT!
To answer your question Yes and No...with plenty of water and a proper diet there won't be any problems. Obviously natural sources of protein are better and easier for your body to process, however it sounds like you're not in much of a position to be picky about what or how much you eat and how often. You can use a shake between meals as a meal replacement, definately after workout when your body is in a catabolic state, and then before bed which is also a catabolic time for your body. I wouldn't recommend more then 2 shakes a day at most though, as your body will do better with natural sources.
Otherwise your profile says your trying to gain before heading back home so you'll need to get about 40% of your cal's from Carbs/40% from protein/20% from fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated mostly). Not to mention you're probably working your tail off out there, so it might be tough for you to really put on much weight.
Also thanks for your service! You guys don't know how well you're appreciated here...despite the garbage and protest on the news...that's not the sympathy of most of us here...just remember that as you're protecting freedom and liberty.

They always have tuna on the line though o i know thats a great source and they ALWAYS have some form of chicken! lol..Anyway thx for the advice on the protien but what about my creatine issue? If you can give me good guidance on how to take my celltech i would greatly apprecate it. thx

hey bro, i was stationed over there at al asad air base. i just got home in october. when i was in the desert i gained a cool 20 pounds. no joke. i went from 6-3 185lbs, to 205 lbs. 3 healthy squares a day, the right supplements, plenty of water, a ton of work, and a good work out partner are clutch. i got cool with the biggest dude that i worked with, talked him into lifting with me, and he showed me the ins and outs. a good work out partner is key. it's like prison over there, so do like they do in lock down and hit the weights hard. you won't really be able to notice, but the folks back home sure will. stay safe over there man, and get back home safe. thanks for your service.

MannyMaster thx for your support.. I love being a soldier ( i love it so much i just re enlisted here in Iraq) and I love the support I get from family, friends and the AMERICAN people.. It truly is motivating knowing people are thankful and behind you 100% regardless of thier political standpoint on the war. THANK YOU for being supportive
Kamrunc, Im at a small camp by LSA Anaconda. I go to the GYM everyday but I dont have the luxury of getting a steady partner because of what I do and the shifts. Also as you know I TRY to eat well but sometimes the dining facility has CRAP!! anyway..thanks freetrainers for the work out plan so that i dont NEED a workout partner. Wish me luck everyone because im sick and tired of being called "Skinny"
