What should meals consist of before a workout and after? In other words...when should you consume more potein, carbs, etc?

more carbs before workout, at least an hour before, and proteins after to replenish lost nutrients and to repair muscle that has been broke down. Eat lots of dense fruits like apples, bananas, and pears and veggies too. Just depends on what you're going for in the long haul. Good luck.

Before a workout you want to eat a moderate amount of protein and carbs, with a 2-1 ratio, Carbs to protein. After a workout you want to eat "simple carbohydrates" with lots of protein. This should be one of your largest meals of the day. Good luck to ya. -sweeny
