I usually get home from working out around 10 pm. I immediately consume a protein shake (1 scoop of Optimum 100% whey with water), and about 20 minutes later I drink a Muscle Milk shake with 2% milk and drink it slowly. I go to bed between 11 and 12 pm.

Am I alright with this routine?

Thanks!

alright? sure...a better way would be to space the 2 shakes more....at least an hour...or maybe 2....drink first shake at 10 when u get home and then drink MM at 12 before you go to sleep....

Or, if it is possible, it would be good to bring it with you and drink it directly after your workout...that way you won't have to drink RIGHT before you go to sleep.

I'd say have your first shake ready to add water and drink immediately after your workout, at the gym, drink 1/2 and sip the other 1/2 on the way home(30 minutes or so), then, if your looking to gain, just have some low-fat or fat free cottage cheese before bed. Maybe mix the cottage cheese with a little natural peanut butter if your looking to gain. Good mix that digests slowly overnight.

Take a shaker bottle w/ whey to the gym and consume it immediately after your workout. When you get home, EAT!!! You need solid foods. I do not know what your goals are (your profile has not been completed), but regardless, you need real food. Prepare a meal ahead of time (chicken breasts and/or lean steak, sweet potato, veggies, etc) and toss it in the microwave as soon as you get home. Your body will thank you. :dumbbell:

Thanks, guys! I tried to fill out my profile, but it's not saving for some reason. I'm 6'4 and 195 lbs. I'm wanting to gain mass and strength, and hope to end up around 215 lbs. with less than 12% body fat.

My protein shake is usually consumed ~5 minutes after working out. Does it need to be sooner?

Drink 1/2 your PWO right after and sip the other 1/2 over about 30 minutes.

Probably best to get a whole food meal in of some type rather than that second shake.
