What type of weight are you looking to add? Also, I assume your are a female. Different techniques are needed for female bodybuilders. Particularly, the natural production of testosterone in women is not adequate for "bodybuilding" type of mass gains. This is why individuals turn to illegal drugs (at least illegal in the U.S.). A simple increase in calories will probably have little effect on lean muscle mass gains. Expand a little and we could probably give more specific feedback.

ok...here we go.... I am a small-framed female...have been working out for about 6 years. I recently (probably in March) started eating really well. I changed my whole diet....to include more protein. I went from 125lbs. in Feb. to 122 in August...and was slowly making visible muscle gains. Now...what I want is to gain more muscle. I try to get in about 130 grams of protein/day...and a sufficient amount of carbs, too. I feel that my diet is right on track....but I am not too sure...Right now I am follwing the 12-week mass program and do a kicboxing/cardio class 2 times/week. I still am unsure about how much cardio to do...I am so afraid to begin losing muscle.
What advice can you all give me? Should I try the weightgainer, increase my protein even more, reassess my program and try something else, or ??????
Any advice will be appreciated... Thanks in advance!!! FT and it's members are great! spanishgirl

Sounds like your diet is good. Also, your cardio is probably just about right if your goal is to maintain a low bodyfat while putting on mass. Most studies indicate that a person can only gain 1lb of lean muscle mass per month. That does not sound like a lot, but imagine being 134 with your same bodyfat. That is a big difference. Time is your best friend. Although you may not want to do it, steroids are the only way to make gains above the average I mentioned above. You are gaining muscle everyday, and I would urge you to just keep working hard and keep it natural.
