Hey guys! For the past 2 weeks, I have been eating every 3 hours faithfully during the work week. My question is, what if before the next time I should eat I get hungry? Can I go ahead and eat something else?? I tried drinking water, and that didn't make the hunger pains go away. TIA!!

If you're getting hungry then you're probably not eating enough and/or the right foods. Check with yourself and see if your getting hungry at a particular time of day and see if it is mood related or really hunger. Before you start to snack between meals, I'd adjust your 3 hr feeds to include good quality protien, healthy fat and a bit of carb. If you're eating enough quality food, you really shouldn't be getting hungry if you're eating every 3 hrs.

It's only happened once(today lol) in the 2 weeks so far. I know for a fact that I'm not getting enough protien, but that will change once payday gets here and I can restock my supplies at work.
I've been eating shredded wheat w/1% milk, yogurts, apple w/natty pb,salad, carrots, and low fat cheddar.

More protein will likely help. It is definitely what has help me feel full longer. Your snack choices listed look pretty good though.

Hi Cristal
Go ahead and eat before the 3 hours..just make it free foods, such as vegtables....I snack on carrots when I get hungry before my 3 hours is up...
Make sure at each meal you get some protein and carbs and at least 1 tablespoon of fat a day, from a source like olive oil or flax seed oil.A typical day would be for me.
Breakfast-Oatmeal or Bran cereal with fruit, yogurt
Snack-5 Triscuits with a cheese string
Lunch-Lean Turkey on Whole wheat,with tomatoe,lettuce,low fat soup,such as a broth.
Snack-Veggies and low fat ranch dip
Dinner-Sliced turkey breast with steamed veggies, brown rice OR baked potatoe
Snack-Protein shake blended with some frozen or fresh fruit.
But go ahead and have a veggie snack if you get hungry

Actually, it really doesn't matter a whole lot if you are still under your calorie requirements. There is no rule you can't eat when hungry.
If you are under your maintenance calories for the day, on a consistent basis, you will lose weight.
On the other hand, it is when you exceed your maintenance on a regular basis that you will gain weight.

Well, thats the thing....I'm in the process of upping my caloric intake to get my body out of starvation mode. I've been consistantly hitting between 1600-1800 every day, but calculations say I should be getting around 2400 a day.
Even then, things are working I do believe, cause another pound was lost last week, and the electronic scale thingy says down 2% body fat as well(I'm doubtful, but at least the numbers changed!)
I'll just keep eating on schedule, and if hunger get's me before my 3 hour mark, I'll just eat earlier!

If it isn't broke, why fix it? In other words, if you need to eat and you are doing so, and still losing fat, why sweat it? Hunger can effect leptin levels, and thus effect T4-T3 conversion. There is alot of adverse effects to being hungry.
