I'm not really big, but I still need to loose some fat since I want to try to compete.Just wanted to ask you, your opinion about this diet: 8.30 Cup of orange juice and an Actisun (concentrated probiotic yogurt.....) 9.30 Protein shake 11.30 5 egg whites, apple, some oats and sun flower seeds 13.30 Lunch -veggies with some source of proteins, yogurt 16.00 Protein shake, some bread or fruit 19.00 Dinner -again veggies and proteins 21.30 Half protein shake I have done this for one week now, so it's still too early realy to say if it works. Weight training 5-6 times a week and looots of cardio (no, I'm not over training, I'm use to it...) Haven't felt hungry or tired with this. I take glutamine and creatine, but do you think I need a fat burner as well (or other things)? I'll keep you posted about the results (so I guess the pic on my profile must be a "before" pic......) |

let us know how it goes. i only have a few possible suggestions:since ur body needs most of its kcals when u first get up, maybe switch ur 1130 meal to the first meal of the day. ur body will get more out of it then. i know they are considered "evil" by many, but dont short change ur body of the right carbs and fats. if ur body doesnt get enough of either one, ur progress may be limited. thats good ur using glutamine. how about a basis multi? just remember that supplements do just that: they supplement whole food. dont rely on them soley. i think that when it comes time for the "cutting" part of ur training, u may want to drop out the creatine. since it may cause some water retention, that may hurt ur ripped look. good luck.........michael |

I agree with Michael...you should switch your 11:30 meal to the first meal. Also, when you have come down to the cutting part of your training, you may consider a fat burner to help when you think you've reached a plateau.Keep us posted...Robert |

A lot of the diet composition depends on when you are planning on competing..know yet? And amount of bodyfat you need to drop! Also when do you train? Morn before or after the first meal ? e-mail me if you wish as I mentioned to some one else I have lots of competition diets in my archives. |

It could be nice Leslie, thank you for your help.About the funny morning meals. Sorry, I didn't tell you, but I weight train in the mornings, and my tummy doesn't like me eating something too heavy just before. But I also don't want to train without having eated something.... hmmmmm lol Another question, is there a way to avoid water retention when eating creatine? Yes, I drink enough and yes (just for you Michael!;) I take my vitamines as well. Finally, thanks to you all for your answers!!! |

What brand do you use? I switched to Prolab and I do not have this problem anymore. Your muscles are holding more water so thus the slight weight gain so don't worry about that! Bloating is different problem soooo uncomfortable!I would re think the Orange juice prior to working out.(Too high on the glycemic index. Thats what diabetics use to bring the blood sugar up quickly.) Maybe the yogurt only. I train on empty stomach but some cannot do that. I get up and take some GH Factor & L Carnitine have coffee and take BCAA during my work out. Then I eat breakfast of carbo and protein after. As you get closer to competition you will need to drop the beloved bread and switch to potato or 1/2 cup rice. And you will need to drop fruit juice too. I will e-mail you some stuff in the next day or two. |

Once again, please take my advice with a grain of Mrs. Dash.I agree with ltroisi on losing the OJ and the bread. Instead of OJ, you might have apple juice. It is lower on the glycemic index, so it will give you energy much longer. And, unless you make the bread yourself with unrefined flours, or are certain it is whole grain, most of what you are getting in processed sugars. I would also recommend instead of sunflower seeds, eating fish to get your essential fats in. I personally wouldn't use a fat burner, because I feel they are harmful to the body, but that is just me. So, there is my opinion, along with the added, "You're too skinny, doesn't your hubby feed you anything? Come let mama cook you up a nice big plate of cookies and some chicken and dumplings!" :) |

Oops, I forgot to add; you can check the glycemic index on various items at:http://www.mendosa.com/gilists.htm To my understanding, it is best to eat those items with a GI of 50 or under. |

Well it's not really an orange juice, but a combined juice with added vitamines. I take this around 1.5 hour BEFORE I work out. I eat a small table spoon of sun flower seeds to get a little fat. I don't like fish. And finally, I DO make my bread myself, so only whole grains, egg whites and added protein powder. I prefer to eat this than potatoes or rice. Honestly, my biggest concern is getting ENOUGH calories during the day..... I'm very active and fast metabolism as well. Something to you all, quite important; you need enough carbs to burn fat..... |

Ok on the Orange Drink 1.5 hours prior. I tried one like that (American Longevity) it is awful but Full of all the essentials. OK on the bread as long as you see results. And I think seeds are great. I like them too. They are a good source of EFA.As far as not enough calories GEEEEEEEE what a problem. Mine is the opposite I am now eating 1000-1300 day to lean out in the next 16 weeks. Add another protein Drink or some Amino Tablets to boost your protein and calories. |

lol cool Musclerage, great if I can help you (like you help me!!)I was completely miserable yesterday coz I ran out of protein powder (got it delivered in the nite time thou) I thought the world was down lol so I started eating red beans and way too much bread..... Today my diet is on the road again. I haven't lost a lot of weight, but my clothes is a lot looser on my body..... I wont stop now. I'll keep you posted and put in some new pics when I think I'm ready (so you can tell me if I'm ready as well! I got to know more about the dates thou..... Hmmm). |
