I just joined a gym, and i am committed to looking great in a 2-piece this summer. Can anyone recommend a sample diet (i'm a 27yr. female 5'1" 130lbs.) to use in addition to my new exercise routine? I want to lose around 15-20 lbs. SAFELY and get toned up! Thanks and best of luck to everyone out there getting in shape!

Good luck!

First of all, you should be eating 5 or 6 small meals a day. Secondly, you should make sure to feed your muscle with plenty of protein! Different people on here have different ideas regarding diet breakdown, but what has worked for me is 40%carb/40%protein/20%fat. I've been doing this type of eating for almost 5 weeks now, and have lost around 7 pounds. So, if you are eating 1200cal a day (which is most likely way too little, but easy to figure!), you would need 20g of protein, 20g of carbohydrate, and 4.4g of fat per meal and 6 meals a day. You can adjust this as needed based on how many calories you need. A good website I've found to calculate your minimum caloric intake is:

Good luck!
